It’s Already Been Brought-en

Happy new year, y’all!  I have no idea why that quote popped into my head, but I figured it served as a fitting title for a New Year’s Eve set of photos.

Last night I started with a little primping to get ready to go out.

Showing off those shoes again.

I totally packed my flip-flops though, and I was definitely wearing them by the end of the night!

Alex had to work a graveyard shift, so I went out and met some friends at a local restaurant, The Iron Cactus.

The lovely Wendy.

Precious and I drinking our Shirley Temples.  I know, what are we, 10 years old?  😉

Precious and I split their appetizer sampler.  The chicken stuffed jalapeno poppers were by far the best.  And I’m glad I remembered my Lactaid pill.  🙂  (I intend to cut back on dairy in the new year, but this was still 2010!  Teehee!)

We watched our friend’s cover band, The Hitmen, perform.

Paul drummin’ his heart out, as usual.

Paul and I.  When you hear me speak of my surrogate dad, this is the guy.  Love him.

Those last two photos got “bumped” onto my phone from someone else’s.  Have you heard of this?  The application is called Bump and your phones sync up somehow, you literally touch the phones together and can transfer information and/or photos of your choosing. She had an iPhone and it still worked to bump them to my Droid.  I was impressed!

I had a great time, though I sure did miss Alex.  This morning when he got home from work we watched the first half of Gone With the Wind together before he passed out.  I have never seen it and he has been bugging me to watch it with him for a while, so we took some time to cuddle in bed with the pups.  So far I am really liking the movie and can’t wait to watch the other half, maybe tonight!

For now I am going to go eat some soup and drink some tea.  I have a bit of a sore throat which I am pretty sure is secondary to the crappy amount of cedar in the air, but I want to play it safe.  I have some studying to do for our first written exam in massage therapy school which is a week from today (yikes!).  Tomorrow I will be back with some actual food talk and pictures.  I made an incredible pot of soup that I can’t wait to share with you all.

Happy, happy new year!  Here’s to the best year yet!

❤ C
